The Committee have much pleasure in submitting the Accounts of the Club for the past year. The Balance Sheet shows a balance credit of $2,183.06, as against $1,072.29 at credit on the 31st December, 1895.
The new Club House has been completed, and the building was formally opened in February. The cost of this, with furniture and fittings, taken as assets, is included in the accounts now entered.
During the past year, 75 new Members joined the Club, and 238 Members paid subscription for whole or a portion of the year. Resident Members now number 153.
The "Farewell Cup" presented by Mr. JONES McCRBURN, was played for by Resident Members during the month of July last, and for it there were 30 entries; it was finally won, after a well-tested match, by the Rev. G. R. VALLINGS, by one stroke at the last hole.
The Captain of the Club (Captain R. MURRAY RUMSEY, R.N.) presented a cup to be played for during the year, the cup being held monthly, and the winners to play for final possession in March. (Penalty is one stroke, or where the ball lies in an obstacle.) 17. On the boundary line, the player may tee his ball on the hazard side.
The following gentlemen have been the Club prize winners during the past year:—
